Chad A. Ritchie Speaks to the Mclean County Bar About Mortgage Foreclosures From a Creditor's Perspective
Chad A. Ritchie was a co-presenter at the Mclean County Bar Association's February 17, 2009 meeting. The presentation was titled: Foreclosures in Today's Legal and Economic Environment. During his presentation, Mr. Ritchie gave a general overview of the Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Act and discussed specific challenges that creditors face when foreclosing mortgages.
Andrew L. Killian Attends Local Government Law Conference
Attorney Andrew L. Killian of the Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. recently attended the Illinois Institute for Local Government Law's 16th Annual Conference in Oak Brook, Illinois. The Illinois Institute for Local Government Law is a not-for-profit professional organization founded in 1992 to serve the needs of the practicing local government attorney. The annual gathering of Municipal attorneys is held to discuss relevant legal issues facing communities all across Illinois. This year's agenda included presentations on a wide variety of legal topics including Police Misconduct and the use of TASARs, Gun Control Ordinances, Employment-related Issues, and Business Districts, TIFs & Economic Development. Also discussed this year was the impact the housing foreclosure crisis, rising unemployment, and the loss of business and industry were having on the represented communities' ability to provide basic governmental services.
Andrew L. Killian Joins Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. as an Associate Attorney
The Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. is pleased to announce that on November 1, 2008, Andrew L. Killian joined the firm as an associate attorney. Andrew obtained his bachelor's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University with a double-major in History and Political Science in 1998. Andrew graduated cum laude from University of Illinois College of Law in 2001. While in law school he was one-half of the College's Regional Championship Team in the American Bar Association negotiation competition. Andrew received a Rickert award from the College of Law as a champion negotiator and also competed on the College's Trial Advocacy Team. Andrew served as the Assistant State's Attorney for Dewitt County for 6 years prior to joining the Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. Andrew concentrates his practice in counseling municipalities and other local governmental bodies. Andrew also focuses in the areas of business and real estate law.
Ritchie Law Office Moves to New East Side Location
On April 1, 2008, the Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. moved to the Corporate Center East Office Complex on the corner of Hershey Rd. and Empire St in Bloomington, Illinois. The new address of the firm is 2205 E. Empire St., Suite A, Bloomington, Illinois. This new office space provides over twice the square footage of the law firm's previous location. The office space was totally remodeled for the law firm. Attorney Chad A. Ritchie designed the office to be an efficient and highly functional space for today's modern law practice.
