Chad A. Ritchie
Attorney and Sole Shareholder
Hello, my name is Chad A. Ritchie. I am an attorney that practices law in McLean County, Illinois. I am a solo attorney practicing law through my law firm – the Ritchie Law Office, Ltd.
Just so you know a little about me, I have been practicing law in McLean County since receiving my law license in November, 2002. I am a lifelong McLean County resident, growing up on a farm just outside of Colfax, Illinois.I have enjoyed competing in sports all of my life. I was an eighth grade state champion in the shot put and discus throw. I earned multiple varsity letters in football, basketball and track in high school. I also earned varsity letters in track and field while in college.I graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1997, cum laude, with a double major in history and political science.
One of my most memorable times in college was spending a semester abroad at American University in Washington D.C. While attending American University I worked as an intern for the political commentary show “The McLaughlin Group” where I met various politicians and television personalities.
I attended Southern Illinois University School of Law where I served on the school’s Law Journal as an Articles Editor. I graduated from SIU Law in 2002 with honors.
I began my legal career working as an associate attorney for the Law Offices of William T. Hundman in 2002. I started my own law firm in 2005 – The Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. — and was a solo practitioner until January 1, 2012 – when I joined a long established Bloomington Law Firm as a partner. After four years at this firm I decided to go back practicing law on my own as a solo attorney through the Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. again.
I married my high school sweet-heart shortly after graduating from IWU and we now have two kids. We also have a dog named Buddy.
When not at the office, I enjoy being with my family and going to my children’s various activities.
I am the past chairman of the McLean County Bar Association’s History and Memorial Committee.
My guiding principal in life is Matthew 22:37-40.
