Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. During Shelter in Place

As a law firm providing legal services, the Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. is defined as an “essential business” by the COVID-19 “Shelter in Place” order recently signed by Governor Pritzker.

The Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. will remain open and doing business but with the following safeguards to protect RLO Staff, Clients, and those segments of our population especially vulnerable to the Corona Virus:

1. RLO Staff Working Remotely: RLO Staff will be working remotely from home during this time. Chad A. Ritchie and RLO Staff can be contacted through normal communication channels, including our main office phone number (309) 662-7000 and/or through each individual’s direct e-mail.

2. The Ritchie Law Office, Ltd. Office Lobby: The RLO office lobby will be closed to “walk ins” and the general public. The RLO Lobby will be open to those that have an in-office appointment and to postal and other delivery carriers. If you have estate planning documents or other documents to drop off to the RLO Office please call and speak with Tammy (309) 662-7000, Ext. 1 to schedule your drop off. We will also have a secure online Dropbox folder you can use to send us documents electronically.

3. Meetings and Appointments: All appointments with attorney Chad Ritchie will be done telephonically and/or via video conference to the greatest extent possible. We will conduct online “virtual” meetings through the RLO RingCentral.com phone service software. For those clients that have Initial Consultation Meetings, Trust Design Meetings or other General Meetings scheduled – we will contact you in advance to confirm meeting arrangements.

4. Signing Estate Planning Documents or other Documents: We will contact each client that has a signing meeting scheduled and confirm our procedure with them for signing documents during this time.

5. Any In-Office Meetings: For any in-office client meeting with Chad A. Ritchie during this time, we will be practicing social distancing, limiting clients to our main conference room, and disinfecting the conference room after each meeting.
