Ritchie Family 2022 Disney Trip!

For Spring Break this year (2022), my family went to Walt Disney World in Florida. Both of my kids are in their high school marching band, and this was the Marching Band's Big Trip to Disney. This trip was delayed for a year because of COVID so we were all grateful that we were finally able to go.

We didn't see the kids that much on the trip as they were with the band and their friends most of the time - however, we did run into them at the parks once in a while. We had lunch with them one day as well! Other than that - Kara and I were on our own!!

My kids, Addison and Jackson, traveled with the Marching Band by bus to Disney World and stayed in a hotel "off property". Kara and I flew to Disney and stayed at one of their Resorts - the Grand Floridian. We purchased tickets to see all four parks the same day our kids would be there with the marching band - but in hindsight - I wish we would have taken a couple days off just to relax at the resort!

This year is Disney World's 50th Year Celebration. They had alot of "extra" exhibits and shows related to the 50 year Celebration. One of the special exhibits was a whole collection of topiaries (sculptured bushes) in the form of various Disney Characters. I thought these were really cool. They had over 20 topiary characters displayed throughout EPCOT. I have picked a few of my favorites below.

Disney has two new rides that are very popular and hard to get tickets for. Star Wars Rise of the Resistance is THE MOST popular ride right now. We are part of a rebel group fighting the Empire. We get captured and taken prisoner where Kylo Ren promises to "extract" the location of the Rebel base from our minds by using the force -- but, fortunately, we managed to make a harrowing escape before that happened.

The second most popular ride is Remy's Ratatouille Adventure - where you have a "Mouse Eyes View" of a restaurant Kitchen and help the other mice hastily prepare a 5 star meal.

Outside of the Disney Parks is a Boardwalk Area. Kara and I went there one night after Dinner and I got some great pics to share of the Boardwalk; People and Water.

Disney is fun - but EXHAUSTING. I enjoy Disney - but I am NOT going to get all of the Disney Princesses tattooed on my leg like this Disney Super-fan we saw!

I did however make it a point to collect Disney's Pressed Pennies that you can find in machines throughout all of their parks. From the Pennies I collected, I made a framed collage to remember this Disney 2022 Trip!
